So we're already insane, but we don't know this because being insane we can't think sanely enough to determine our sanity so we're constantly thinking we're going insane when in reality we're already insane. And the result of all this insanity is that the more we think we're going insane the more insane we are in fact becoming, and any hope of our ever becoming sane once more is now completely at an end. (You try the unraveling bit now! ;))

*gulp* Sorry. I KNOOOOW! I've be...You can do this, Rae! ;D

I KNOOOOW! I've been saying for years that someone ought to make a miniseries of Little Women, so to have them come so close and yet fail so dismally...it's painful! You should watch it though. I mean, it's fun to watch dreadful movies sometimes. It gives you so much inspiration for doing something better. (That's what it does for me anyway, haha. ;))

That would be lovely! We'll have to make out a huge big list and then when we get together someday stay up all night watching them. :)

Hahahaha. Oh goodness. You are too sweet. If that had been my true choice of a dress really you should NOT have accepted it. You should have sat me down and talked some sense into me right then and there. Because really, anyone who could truly like a dress like that is in need of some serious help. Haha. ;P

Wouldn't it be lovely? It would be so nice to have a really good Mansfield Park adaption.

Oh! Does that mean you've been watching When Calls the Heart, too? Or do you just mean you understand about being "into it" in a general sense? Because if you have seen it, now I'm curious to know what you think of it. And who your favorite character is and all that? :)

Haha. You've gotten wise to me, I see. ;)

P&P '95. Always. ;)

You did indeed! It was a lovely comment. It's hard to actually imagine our favorite heroes being REAL and knowing them as an eligible acquaintance and all that sort. I approve of your choice. <3

Knowing both Henry Tilney AND Gilbert Blythe in Real Life would be atrociously difficult. Sigh. Like, I agree with so much of this....SAAAAME.
Sigh. Like, I agree with so much of this. How on earth am I supposed to write a comment that isn't just "Yess!!" "I COMPLETELY agree." etc.? Well, we shall try. We shall also try to only comment with actual comments and not just the examples I gave before. Ahem. Onward.

OKAY. LITTLE WOMEN.
I must say that is extremely disappointing. I'm not a huge fan of 1994 either so I was reeeealllly hoping for a good one.
Now? I don't think I'll even bother watching.
Sigh. It sounds perfectly dreadful. How tragically disappointing.

Same, same, same...

Mmm yes Gilbert...

OF COURSE WHO DOESN'T BINGE-WATCH PERIOD DRAMAS??

SO TRUE. Let's watch period dramas together sometime.

Book Henry Tilney is AMAZING and I think I'd adore to have him as a real life friend.

Okayyy I was pretty sure you were joking about that dress but I was also wanting to, like, accept it if you truly meant it, you know? But I confess it was a relief and not much of a surprise when I saw your true answer. :D

Oh my GOODNESS, I would ADORE a good Mansfield Park with Edward and Amy (Ahem, Dan Stevens aaannd Claire Foy) as Edmund and Fanny. That's charming.

Yes I know what you mean about watching season four of WCTH and being "into it". Haha.

With the hairstyle I knew that was coming. :D I didn't expect a serious answer, haha.

P&P 95, of course, no period drama blog post is complete without it. :D

There you go, I managed pretty well, didn't I? :D It's long to be sure, buuuut of course it is. :DRaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11124714551912774373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-14973286687855442932018-01-26T11:31:31.032-05:002018-01-26T11:31:31.032-05:00YOU STOLE SOME OF MY ANSWERS?! (*eyeroll at self* *double wink at you*)

1. IT IS!!! So frustrating.

5. Hahaha. I thought you might appreciate that answer. ;) Oh by all means! I shall have a film crew there to capture the entire event. Just for you. ;D (NOT!)

6. Isn't it though? He's just such a lovable person. How can one help but like him?

11. It's called "good taste" my dear. ;P
Alright, I grant you they are rather large puffs, but they're PRETTY puffs! I love the bell shape of them. Anne's on the other hand, they look like fat sausages or something. :P (Well at least I have Matthew's approval. That's something. ;))

17. You mean you don't like my choice? Oh, Cordy. *crestfallen* I felt sure you would approve of my style. (Hahaha. ;D)

You're most welcome! And thanks for such a splendid and enjoyable comment!! And I'll admit up front, I think I still managed to steal one or two. My bad. Hahaha. But on to your answers.

1. I was afraid of this after they started releasing clips. *facepalm* It's too painful to be endure, isn't it?

5. I can't tell you the giggle fit you just gave me. I'm still laughing! You're the best!! Should you ever employ such priceless advice, make sure you're somehow on camera, will you?! XD

6. Good points here...
Hahaha, "I'd probably like him a whole lot more than I'd want to admit to." That's very true I think.

11. And how did you happen upon such a ravishing choice?! ;P
Now regarding Meg's dress, the sleeves remind me of Anne's blue dress. As Marilla would say, "you'd have to turn sideways to get through the door". But Matthew would approve so I'm sure you'd be lovely.

17. "*finally strikes gold*" Well...you struck...something. I'm just not sure we have the same definition of gold, now do we? Someone just had to tell you. ;D

Thanks for tagging me!! I should have my post done tomorrow or so. But you should give it a try just the same if you get the chance, because my opinion certainly isn't everyone's! You might like it. And if you don't, well then you and I can have the pleasure of talking together about how bad it is. Haha. ;P

:D

HE IS! I love Henry Tilney. (And yes, he could have been my answer for number six, too! ;))

Isn't it though? It's not fair that Drizella has the prettiest dress. It just isn't! Ha! ;P Oh yeah. Anne's blue puffed sleeve dress. I never did quite understand what she saw in that. The color's nice to be sure...but the SLEEVES! Hahaha.

Oh yes! You MUST watch Amazing Grace. I mean, I was already skeptical of it, but I thought I might give it a try. Now I'm not so sure I will!

Okay, I obviously agree with your answer to number six, as we've already discussed! ;)

Oh my goodness, yes, Mr Tilney would be amazing to have as a friend! Why didn't I think of him for my answer to number 10?! He is so hilarious and fun and sweet...I could probably choose him as my answer for number six as well, haha. :P

Ah yes, that yellow dress that Drizella is wearing is absolutely beautiful. ;) That definitely made me smile! I almost included Anne's blue puffed sleeve dress in my answer as a joke, haha.

Ooh, those are great choices for Fanny and Edmund!

Of course, I agree with you on your answer to number 18, too!

I need to watch Amazing Grace sometime. I know I watched it a looong time ago, but I remember nothing about it. Hopefully I can soon! :)

Again, I really enjoyed this post, Miss March! Okay, wow. We're totally ...True and true. :)

Okay, wow. We're totally coming at this from different angles. For starters, I don't really see any of the contradictory plot/character changes that you do. I actually think the story fits together quite well, and it never felt to me like Louisa May Alcott was making her characters act "out-of-character" in order to take the plot in the direction she wanted. Jo never loved Laurie. And even in Little Women I don't think the author gives the impression that their relationship is headed in that direction. That's what would have annoyed me. If Louisa May Alcott had made it sound like they would end up together in one book and then totally did a switch in the next. But I really don't think she did that.

As to Laurie marrying Amy, I actually think that's really neat. Because then Laurie will forever be a part of their family and he and Jo can be brother and sister as they were meant to be (okay, that's my opinion, haha ;)), and I just think it's so cool that Amy gets to marry a beloved childhood friend. Also, I think there's a misconception about Amy. I feel like a lot of times in the movies she's made out to be a spoiled brat. But she's really not. Granted, she is a little spoiled as a child, but she grows up a lot in the book and by the second half you realize she's very concerned about doing what's right and growing better and being a real lady. She's actually a very strong character in my opinion.

Oh yes. The age difference. That can be rather disturbing I grant you. I mean, personally, I don't want to marry someone who's a great deal older than me. But yeah, I guess it works for some people. And if you read the sequel they're actually a very cute couple and don't seem all that different in age, really. At least so far as I can remember. (How much is the age difference exactly? I can never remember how old they are. I guess I should look that up. :))

Anyway, thank you so much for satisfying my curiosity. It was very interesting to hear your take on it, and I now understand why you're not a huge fan of Little Women. It makes perfect sense. :) Sorry if I rambled on a bit. I'm a sucker for these kind of discussions. :)Miss Marchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03088465083055515308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-75413774983461991502018-01-22T11:22:20.469-05:002018-01-22T11:22:20.469-05:00You liked it? And I will admit it did have some good points. I mean, it was cool how they included some of the parts that the other movies never include (though I did feel like they didn't do justice to most of them. Like they tried to put so many different things in, but didn't spend enough time on any of them, if you know what I mean). Meg was probably my favorite of all the girls. I still wasn't too impressed with John Brooke though. I don't know, he just always seems too serious to me. And kind of boring. *sigh* Honestly, Gabby, I don't know what it's going to take to make me happy with a Little Women adaption. Maybe I'm just too picky.

Haha, thanks!! :DMiss Marchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03088465083055515308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-70379167799224325902018-01-22T11:07:34.990-05:002018-01-22T11:07:34.990-05:00It is! I'm starting to feel like I must be horribly picky or something. Like so many people love the '94 version and I just don't. I mean, there are some things I like about it (and after watching the newer one the '94 one looked even better, haha!) but...I don't know. I'm hopeless. :P

Haha. I tend to laugh at it a lot because some of it is so cheesy, but there were some points that almost had me in tears so yeah...you can imagine.

Thank you so much for your comment!! :)Miss Marchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03088465083055515308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-51602652121729630922018-01-22T10:54:21.596-05:002018-01-22T10:54:21.596-05:00(You like my sarcasm? I wish someone would make a really good Little Women sometime, because it's such a good story and it would make an awesome miniseries! (That's why this one was even more disappointing, I think, because it was a miniseries. They had time to do so much, and yet it fell so flat. In my opinion anyway.) But yes, you should definitely watch it for yourself. My opinion often ends up being in the minority (perhaps I'm too picky??), so yeah, you might actually like it! I'd be interested to hear what you think of it when you see it! :)

REALLY?!! Yay! I always wanted to be the belle of the ball!!! ;D

Miss Potter is SUCH a good movie. We just recently watched it again and oh!! I think it's one of my favorite romances. <3 <3 Thank you! You have good taste, too!! :D

Thanks so much for creating this tag. I had a lot of fun with it! :)Miss Marchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03088465083055515308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-52596162950021560622018-01-22T04:44:12.387-05:002018-01-22T04:44:12.387-05:00Aww, sorry to hear you were so terribly disappoint...Aww, sorry to hear you were so terribly disappointed and disgusted with the Stan Little Women TV series. I watched it around the time of my birthday. I didn't go in with high expectations (just because I'm always dubious of remakes of my favourite book :P) and it was pretty much what I expected. I liked it. I certainly didn't love it, but I certainly didn't HATE it. There were parts I was excited about (I liked that they added in things from the book that were never in any other movies) but there were also many parts I was frustrated with. I liked Meg and John Brooke in this one, but a lot of the others didn't quite feel like the right fit. And they also seemed a tad modern, but that's almost always a problem for me when it comes to period dramas. :P

I love your little "Goofy is as goofy does, and boring goofy certainly was." ;DGabby A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02094981984519672898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-81105436737120085632018-01-21T21:40:38.105-05:002018-01-21T21:40:38.105-05:00Siblings who scoff when you scoff - that's the...Siblings who scoff when you scoff - that's the BEST. My sister and I keep a running commentary of snark while watching most things. (To be fair... they deserve it. xD)

And yes, adaptations of long books tend to be better as a miniseries. Otherwise they don't have enough time to include eVERY WORD AND DETAIL. Which is important.

Lovely tag, Miss March! :)
- Jem JonesJem Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00283849842223000389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586249009762006304.post-52780180724080931242018-01-20T22:14:30.635-05:002018-01-20T22:14:30.635-05:00Ok, everything in your last paragraph . . . EXACTL...Ok, everything in your last paragraph . . . EXACTLY!!! Everyone loves Colonel Brandon, and even in the book I'm like, "eh." Also, Willoughby LOOKS bad.

And yes, I dislike that Jo and Laurie don't end up together but its more than that. Little Women was published as two books: Little Women and Good Wives. And Alcott deliberately kept Laurie and Jo apart and you can see rather contradictory/unbelievable/unsatisfactory plot/character changes. For example, Jo really matured through Little Women, but she seriously retrogressed, to the point of caricature in the beginning of Good Wives. And then Laurie marries Amy. It's not just that he married Jo but that he marries AMY. For one thing, you don't marry your sister's flame. NOPE. And Amy is the boring, snotty one who gets everything her way with no real worth. And she changes Laurie to be just as flat a character as Amy. Clearly the Laurie Amy story doesn't work out well as its not even original or well-developed. Jo and the Professor's story is a lot more real although it still felt manufactured, but I find the age difference and his fatherly mannerism disturbing. Basically splitting Laurie and Jo isn't merely a sinking of a ship but the spoiling of a story.Livia Rachellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755623391278276925noreply@blogger.com
