Wasting Time = New Blog Look

I've been wasting a lot of time lately.  The past few days have not been very productive at all.  Every time I sit down to work on an intelligent post (or some other writing project) I get distracted.  I've been fooling around with making headers, and once I get started on that it's hard to focus on anything else.

Then this morning I got the urge to redo my sidebar because it was starting to feel disorganized and messy.  And of course, if I'm going to redo my sidebar I may as well redo my whole blog.  So...

I wasted the entire morning, and now it's almost lunch time and I haven't done a lick of writing.   It's terrible.  This new blog look had better inspire me to write more or I'm going to be extremely put out with it for having taken up so much of my time.

Complaints aside, I am rather pleased with how it turned out.  And I'm now curious to know what the rest of you think.

So tell me, will it do?

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT'S GORGEOUS. (Definitely the best one of yours to date. :-D)
(Although it has a picture of Arthur and THAT GIRL on it. Arthur doesn't belong to THAT GIRL.)

(And I know. About wasting time. I wish I could say I don't struggle with that...)

    1. Thank you, Naomi! I'm so glad you approve!!

About Arthur and THAT GIRL. Of course he doesn't belong to her. NOT IN THE LEAST!! But...well...her dress matched my color scheme. What else could I do? ;) Heehee.

  2. Will it do?! Yes, I believe it will do very nicely!! :D It's all so lovely, Miss March! I'm glad I'm not the only one that wastes time while trying to write. :/ In fact, I'm about to publish a post that is pretty similar to yours. That quote by Maya Angelou is awesome! I love it all, Miss March!!

    1. THANK YOU, CORDY! I'm so happy you like it. :)

And yes, that quote is lovely, isn't it? I found it in my sister's quote book. She collects the quotes, and then I go searching through her book when I'm in need of a new one. Works real well. :)

    2. Haha, I love that! She collects and you will search and read. Sounds like a pretty good system to me! :D

  3. Will it do?! 'TIS BEAUTIFUL!!!

Excellent job, Miss March! I love it, I really do :) It's simple, but not too simple, and really fresh and neat. Well done!!! :)

(And I totally know how you feel about making headers and ending up wasting like two hours. It's embarrassing, but hey, it's at least a little productive, right? I mean, there are worse ways we could be wasting time.)

    1. Awww. Thanks, Olivia. I'm so glad you like it. :D

Oh, I know!! It's crazy how fast the time goes by when you're working on stuff like that. Though, it is true. There are definitely worse ways of using one's time. Thank you for pointing that out. :)

  7. Haha, oh wow, yes. ;) I know the feeling! I know I SHOULDN'T be looking at those really interesting behind-the-scenes videos or reading those blogs posts that I don't actually have time for...I'm afraid I still do it. :/ SELF CONTROL, MEG, SELF CONTROL. *sigh* It certainly is a struggle, for me.
Miss March, it's DICKENS! How can I not love it?! ;) No, it's beautiful! I love the lace, too... and all the colours go together wonderfully. It's very pretty. :D I have a very little artistic/creative side to me, but I CAN recognize pretty things when I see them. ;)

    1. Yes, indeed! Self control! It's so hard to keep from going overboard on things, and getting stuck on one project when you really should be working on another. I struggle with that all the time.

Dickens!! Hey, that's true. They're all Dickens pictures. I hadn't even thought about that. ;) I'm glad you think it's pretty, and that the colors go well together. That's one thing I'm really fussy about. Everything MUST match! ;)

  8. Will it do? IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

I think most of us struggle with wasting time once in a while. My only advice is this -- don't stress over it. Even when you do waste time, don't waste more time by fretting over how that time is lost to you now -- just go ahead and make the best use of what you've still got. And if you don't think about it so much it's easier to keep busy. :-)

    1. THANK YOU, Emma!!

Oh, you're so right. There's no use fretting over time that you can't get back. That's just more wasted time. Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it. :)
