An Introduction

As stated plainly by the above title, this post is an introduction.  That being the case, I suppose it would be customary for me to introduce myself.   I am not going to give you my real name because I wish to increase my mysteriousness...haha! Not really.  "But then, of course, there is the issue of privacy," as Emma Woodhouse would say; and with that I wholeheartedly concur.   Privacy is indeed precious.

For the time being then, in regards to this blog, you may know me by the penname, Miss March. I chose that name because Little Women is one of my all time favorite books.  Also, I grew up playing the characters of the March girls with my three older sisters, so I  feel quite comfortable impersonating them.  I did not choose one particular March girl to represent on this blog, because I could not decide which one I was most like.

I relate to all of them in different ways.  I am domestic, like Meg; a scribbler, like Jo; play the piano every day, like Beth; and...well, I am not artistic like Amy, but I think I could match her in the lecturing department if I had the proper subject.  I would so enjoy giving someone a "rouser."  Strike that.  I actually have a very hard time speaking hard, honest truth to people's faces for fear of offending them, so perhaps I lecture best only in my imagination.  (Oh, but it's nice to have an imagination, isn't it?)

As stated in my profile, I am twenty-three years old.  I have never had my own blog before--nor even commented on anyone else's blog--so I guess you could say I'm a bit of  a novice.  This blog is called Sunshiny Corner because that is the title to which my perfectionist nature finally gave its approval.  I had quite a few other ideas  before that one, but they all persisted in sounding bad just about the time I thought I was settled on them.  (Which was quite provoking of them, to be sure.)
My hope for this blog is that it will be a sunshiny place, for myself as well as others.  This past year has been a hard one for me and my family, and there have been many times when I've gone searching through blogs just longing for something pleasant to read.  I do hope Sunshiny Corner will prove to be a cheerful, amusing, and encouraging place for anyone who happens to stop by.
Oh and please pardon my improper grammar as I'm sure there will be plenty of it.  I threw the text books out long ago and I've never had the heart to pick them up since.  (Why should I?  I'm done with school!  "Oh joy!  Oh ecstasy!" as my brother would say.)
Alright, here we go.  I'm publishing my first post. (Yikes!)

  1. Miss March! I'm so glad you started a blog! It looks and sounds wonderful... and you seem a girl after my own heart, looking at your header! (I am a DIE-HARD P&P fan.)

I'm sorry your family had a hard year... I hope this year will be more sunshiny. Lovely title for a blog, by the by. :-)

Seessh, yes. I remember SO well, publishing my own first post. I was SO nervous and terrified and exciting. I'm so glad I started blogging - so many wonderful things have happened since then. I hope it'll be the same fore you.

It's lovely here, and thank you for commenting on my blog!

  2. Hello! I found your blog through your comment on Naomi's. :)
Let me first day that, if this is your first blog, you're doing QUITE well in designing it! My first blog look was not very pretty or professional looking. :/

I love Little Women as well! And I also can't decide which sister I am most like. :)

Haha, yes imagination is a MOST wonderful thing.

I'm so sorry for the hard time you've been going through. I can keep you and your family in my prayers, if you'd like! :) And I love your blog name...it's so happy and puts me in mind of a quiet garden corner, maybe with a bench and a leafy tree, with the sun shining on it. :)
Welcome to the blogging world, Miss March!

  4. I'm so overwhelmed! I never expected to receive three comments on my first blog post! Thank you so much! You all are so welcoming!

Naomi, It's so encouraging to know that I'm not the only one who was scared to write my first post! I was even scared to comment on your blog, but I'm glad I did it. Thank you for being so friendly!

Hi Natalie! Wow! I don't know what to say. Your comment was so kind. Thank you for offering to pray for me and my family. My parents adopted four kids last year and it's been a hard adjustment for all of us. Things are starting to smooth out more now, but it's definitely not a walk in the park.

Hello, Olivia! It's so good to meet you. Thank you for your thoughts on the subject of perfect blog posts. I totally need to learn how to relax, and just write--without worrying about everything being perfect. :)
