Another Lovely Tag!

Cordy, who blogs at Write On Cordy! (a blog, by the by, that I am growing quite fond of), has tagged me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers AwardI've actually done this tag before, but as the questions are always new--and these ones looked particularly fun--I thought I'd do it again.

Thank you, Cordy!

1. Do you have a favorite fictional couple? (If so, why do you like them?)

Oh dear me.  A favorite fictional couple?  Why is my mind going blank?  I know there are dozens of good fictional couples...why then when someone says 'favorite' do I suddenly feel that there is not one couple in all the vast array of fictional stories which I particularly and especially like?

Hold it!  Let me a think a moment...

Alright.  I'll just go with the first couple who popped into my head.

Mr. Knightly and Emma.   One of the things I like most about this couple is the fact that they've been friends all their lives.  They know each other so well, and can be totally real and honest with one another, while still remaining good friends.  (Also, their arguments are highly entertaining, and their romantic moments are the sweetest ever.)  "Will you dance, dear Emma?"  Aww.

2. If you could have any animal (safely) as a pet you would have a...

Oh, I don't know. I don't really like pets.  But if I must choose one, I suppose I'll go with a dog.  That's boring, but hey!   It's traditional.  (There is one condition, however.  He must remain outside.  Dogs in the house are a definite, NO!)

3. You get to live in Middle Earth, what race are you a member of?

Well, seeing that I'm an extremely adventurous person, who LOVES to try new things (not!), I would probably go with Rohan or Gondor.  Why?  Well, because they're people and I'm kind of used to being a people (ahem, a person.)  As a second choice, I'd probably choose to be a Hobbit.  Because I think Hobbiton would be a cozy and delightful place to live.

Tell me, isn't that just adorably quaint and cozy?

4. In an ideal situation (you don't have to worry about living too far from family or money concerns) where would you live? (It can be fictional.)

That's a tough one, because I don't usually think about that sort of thing.  Hmmm...?

Well, if it were possible I would probably choose to live at my grandparents old farm...provided it was fixed up and back to what it used to be when they lived there.  The house has for several years now been a sort of dream house of mine, and I'd really like to live in a house similar to it someday.  Of course, I can't go into all the reasons why, but here's a picture for you.

The inside  of the house (which is small and cozy...yes, I adore cozy places) is what I particularly like.  Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of it, or I would share those with you, too.

5. Do you have a favorite 'vintage' movie? (As in, filmed before 1960.) What is it?

I know I've mentioned this one before on my blog, but I'll take the risk of boring you and mention it again.  Random Harvest is one of my very favorite 'vintage' movies.  It's a beautiful story and if you haven't seen it, you really should.  :)

6. When you were a little kid what did you want to be when you grew-up?

A clown.  Apparently, my brother and I were going to join the circus and thrill audiences with our hilarious antics.  However, I have a feeling we confused childish goofiness--of which we had a large supply--with being genuinely funny, so I can't say our career would have been a hugely successful one.  In fact, I'd hate to see the kind of reception we would have received.  (Eye rolls, maybe?  Rotten vegetables?)  Needless to say that dream died...and the world is a brighter and happier place.  ;)

7. You can be 'the best' in any sport (e.g. gymnastics, curling, synchronized swimming etc.) what do you choose?

That's a tough question, because I'm not really into sports.  Also being 'the best' at a sport would require a good deal of intense work, and I'm not really into that, either.  Okay...random off the top of my head, and I-probably-wouldn't-really-want-to-do-this-but-let's-go-for-it-anyway...ping pong.  How's that?

8. List three things that you wish people knew about you but will never ask. (Or just three random things. ;))

I'm going to go with three random things.

1. A day of shopping for clothes  is not what I would consider a fun outing--unless we have to stop for lunch, in which case I just might be persuaded to enjoy myself.   ;)
2. I am a terrible conversation starter, but I enjoy talking if someone else begins it.
3. I have a sister who reads my mind and whose mind I read.  We are forever stealing each other's thoughts.  :)  (Sisters are the best!)

9. Share a favorite quote!

I don't really have a large repertoire of quotes as I'm not one to collect them and memorize them, but with some quick research I was able to come across one that I like, so here it is.

10. What is your favorite thing about wintertime? (Besides Christmas.)

Well, I don't really like to be cold, but I do enjoy the cold weather in the wintertime because it allows me to be extra warm and cozy in bed at night.  Also, during the day, it gives me the opportunity to sit in front of the space heater in my room and toast myself to perfection;  which is a favorite winter activity of mine, especially when I have a good book to read and some candy to nibble on.  (Ah! Talk about comfort!  ;))

Now, as I haven't the brain power  at this moment to come up with new questions, I've decided not to tag anyone specifically.  However, if you'd like to answer Cordy's questions, please feel free.  And in that case, I tag everyone!

Have fun!

I love that cozy farmhouse :) I'd fill out the tag but I already did on Cordy's blog, soooo . . . happy weekend! I'm going to get some sleep.

    1. Yes, totally! I don't know what I would do without my sisters. :)

Happy weekend to you, too, Rosie! Thank you for your sweet comment.

  2. Aww, thank you for the kind words about my blog, Miss March!
I did wonder, as this award has been circulating the blogs for awhile now, if you had already filled out it--I'm glad you did it again! :)

    1. Love Mr. Knightley's expression in the picture. And the two of them do have the best conversations!
    2. Okay, haha. Outside dog only. :)
    4. That's so cool! What a cute 'dream house'. :D It looks darling and like a manageable size...which is a big deal for me. I don't want a very big house when I get my own home.
    5. I've heard of Random Harvest, because I like Greer Garson, but I haven't ever watched it.
    6. Perfect answer! I did not see that coming! :D
    8. I don't like clothes shopping either!!! I come back from the shopping trips feeling drained and depressed because of all the ugly clothes that I am expected to wear. Ugh!

    Thanks, Miss March. :D

    1. You're more than welcome. I really am enjoying your posts, Cordy, and on top of that I love the way your blog is arranged. It's neat and orderly and...can I use the word cozy again? ;)

Oh, yes. I think it's perfectly fine to do a tag more than once. Thanks again for tagging me. It was fun coming up with answers to your questions. :)

      1. Seriously, yes! They are so entertaining to watch. :)
      3. Yes, I really want to live in a small house when I get married...at least at first. Eventually, if I have a large family like my parents, I'll probably move into something larger, but then I'll have all my kids to help me keep after things.
      8. PRECISELY! Shopping trips wear me out!! Especially as it's SO hard to find something I like. "All the ugly clothes that I am expected to wear." Haha! My thoughts exactly! The styles these days are really something!! :/

Thank you for your comment, Cordy. The part about the ugly clothes brought a big smile to my face. Just sayin'. :)

    2. Miss March, thank you. :) Those are all very kind things to say and I glad that you are enjoying my blog so much. I love all your comments and the conversations we have!!

Oh, yes. A small house with a large family would be difficult! Haha.

Something styles...yes, that works. They are something aren't they? Something mostly ugly. :P I totally understand you! How hard can it really be to make cute clothes? :D

    3. Same here. Your comments are the best!! :)

Ha! Yes. Ugly, indeed. Whenever I go shopping I get this urge to become a clothing designer, so I can make clothes that are really worth wearing. Of course, I would never actually do that because...well, I don't even know how to sew!! :) Haha!

    4. Should that 'urge' ever overtake you and you take up clothing design--I would be your first customer!! :D

  3. "(Eye rolls, maybe? Rotten vegetables?)" Haha, you are so witty. :-) About you and your brother wanting to be clowns. :-P
AHH. YES. EMMA AND KNIGHTLEY. I love them together. :-)
Your grandparents house is SO pretty! It looks just like Green Gables!! :-O

    1. Thanks, Naomi! That's so sweet of you to say so. :) I'm glad it amused you.

Oh, I know!! They're just perfect for each other!! :D

Aww. I'm glad you think it's pretty. And you're right it does look rather like Green Gables. I've always liked white houses with green shutters. :)

  4. Your grandparent's house is so lovely!! I adore old farmhouses. :)

I've heard from someone else once that Random Harvest was a good movie, but I have yet to watch it. I want to! :)

Haha "the world is a brighter and happier place." I love that your brother and you wanted to do that, though. It is so cute!

Ahh, the space heater and a book and candy...perfection. :)

    I enjoyed this, Miss March!

    1. Aww, thanks. I'm so happy you think so. :)

I hope you do get a chance to watch Random Harvest sometime. It's a beautiful love story--rather sad, but with a deliciously happy ending.

Aww, Natalie. Thank you for your kind words. I hate to say it--because I feel like I say this all the time--but I was in need of a little encouragement last night, and your comment came at just the right time. Thank you so much, friend. :)

    2. I love sad/happy stories! :)

Aww!! I'm so glad my comment came when you needed it. I had no idea that my "quick" comment would make you happy. Isn't it wonderful how God uses the smallest things to help us through tough times?
And don't feel bad at all. I don't mind at all! I hope you're feeling better! -hugs-

    3. Yes, indeed. It's amazing how much He cares about us, even to the smallest details of our lives. He's so good. :)

Aww. Thank you, Natalie. -returns hugs- You're a dear. :)

  5. I'm the same way--I don't like starting conversations, but if someone specifically addresses me, I can talk a bit :D

Hobbiton WOULD be a delightful place to live *happy sigh*

That house you pictured is beautiful!! It reminds me of Green Gables, in a way :)

    1. Yep, starting conversations is just awkward, especially when I don't have anything to say (which is usually the case).

      Wouldn't it, though? :)

Oh, really? You're the second person who said that. I guess it must be the white walls with the green shutters. I think it's lovely, too. :)
